Raymond Dokpesi Snr Along With 7 Other Family Members Test Positive For Coronavirus

The founder of DAAR Communications Plc, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi along with his daughter-in law and six other members of his family have received positive test results for Coronavirus.

This came 3 days after his son who is also the Chairman of the board of the company, Raymond Dokpesi Jnr tested positive for the virus.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, conducted a test for coronavirus on the Dokpesi family after which eight members came out positive.

High Chief Dokpesi and the other affected family members have been evacuated by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, and taken to the isolation centre at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital Gwagwalada where his son is already receiving treatment.

High Chief Dokpesi, on Friday shortly after the arrival of the NCDC Ambulance, spoke saying he is feeling well. “I am of quite ok, i feel very well”, he said, an indication that his condition is still asymptotic.

The Chairman of the DAAR Board was the first to test positive for Coronavirus when he experienced symptoms which he said were just like malaria symptoms. But when coughing started, he reached out to the NCDC and took a test which later turned out positive.

Efforts immediately began to trace those who he had been in contact with including his family members and his father, High Chief Dokpesi and members of his household.

Testing of senior management and members of staff who had been in close contact with the company’s index case also took place.
