Ondo State Governor Orders Markets To Reopen Because Of Eid-El-Fitri

Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has given an order to reopen all major and community markets throughout the State on Saturday, May 23.

The Governor revealed this in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olusegun Ajiboye made available to newsmen in Akure on Friday.

Akeredolu had previously banned daily market activities in the State as part a measure taken to curb the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

This order is to give Muslim faithful in the State the opportunity to engage in shopping activities ahead of the Eid-el-Fitr festivities.

“Meanwhile, it must be noted that the earlier order restricting business and market activities to Tuesdays and Thursdays in the State resume immediately after tomorrow,” the statement added.
