Lockdown Extended By One Week By Kano State Government

Kano state government has informed the public that the extension of the lockdown will be by one week to help further fight the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The state commissioner for information, Malam Muhammad Garba, announced this adding that the decision was reached after due consultations with the federal government and key stakeholders in the health sector.

He said the measure being taken to reduce indiscriminate person to person contacts, which is seen as one of the major ways the virus is being spread.

The statement acknowledged the consequences of the measure on the public, but also called for patience and support as the battle against the pandemic continues.

It also reiterated to the people to continue to observe strict personal hygiene through regular hand washing, use of face masks and social distancing.
