Raymond Dokpesi Has Recovered From COVID-19

The founder of Daar Communications Plc, Raymond Dokpesi, along with two of his grandchildren have made a great recovery and have been discharged from the University of Abuja Treatment Centre after testing negative for COVID-19 twice.

Reports from The PUNCH say that the founder’s son and some other members of his family are still receiving treatment.

A letter of appreciation signed by Dokpesi carried his expression of gratitude to God for seeing his family through the trying period.

He wrote, “I am exceptionally indebted to God Almighty for keeping and protecting me and my entire family all through our isolation at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada Isolation Centre.”

Dokpesi said that the two-week ordeal he experienced at the hospital gave him first-hand experience of the enormous challenges Nigeria faces as a country.

“We are better acquainted with the personal sacrifices many Nigerians are making to ensure that we collectively defeat this pandemic. This cuts across the policymakers, the care providers, and even the cleaners whose job puts them at constant risk of exposure,” he said.

He sent many thanks to Nigerians for their goodwill messages, and appreciated the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire; and the management of the teaching hospital, amongst others for their support and care.
