Osagie Ehanire, the Nigerian minister of health, revealed that Nigeria has begun to use remdesivir, an anti-retroviral drug to treat active COVID-19 patients.
On Tuesday, Ehanire addressed the members of the house of representative saying the drug has been administered to patients in Lagos state.
He did not mention the results of the treatment.
“We have been using that (remdesivir); we have tried that in Lagos too,” he said.
“So, we have tried the antiretroviral drug to see what effect it has.”
