So, without wasting time, Let’s dive right in. The secret to a yummy, less scrambled and delicious pancakes is in the process of preparation, the right ingredients and items used in preparing it. When I say items, I mean the kind of fry pan or heating system used.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup flour - 250 grams

  2. 2 tsps baking powder

  3. 2 tsps sugar

  4. Pinch of salt

  5. 3/4 cup milk - 180 ml

  6. 1 egg (beaten)

  7. 2 tbsps canola or vegetable oil

  8. 2-3 tbsps butter (as a substitute for oil)

Items needed

  1. 2 Mixing Bowls - Big and Small

  2. Spatula or large flat Spoon

  3. Hand Mixer Blender

  4. A deep Spoon

  5. Frying Pan - The nonstick Griddle or Skillet are recommended

  6. Electric Cooker or Gas Cooker

The Mixing Process

Step 1 : Mix all the dry ingredients together by pouring the Flour, Baking Powder ( it gives the pancake a fluffy look and make it rise better), sugar and the pinch of salt into a big mixing bowl. Mix them together properly using the hand mixing blender. Create a deep hole using a spoon at the middle of the dry mixture for easy entrance of the wet ingredients.

Step 2 : Break one egg into the milk inside a separate bowl then pour the content gently into the deep hole you made in the dry mixture in step one while you stir together. Beat the egg properly with the flour mixture to form a smooth batter. Try to avoid too lighter or too thicker batter.

Step 3 : Mix the ingredients together vigorously to create an even mixture. Mix until you get a smooth and creamy look but be careful not to over mix it

Step 4 : Let the batter rest for 3 to 5 mins, this will allow it to thicken and make sure to occasionally mix it to eliminate emanating bubbles. You can use this opportunity to add extra flavours to your batter such as coconut, blueberries and other special ingredients to spice up your pancake.

The Cooking Process

Step 1 : Get a flat frying pan - A nonsticky one. Make sure it’s flat enough but no slopy edge.

Step 2: Put on your electric or gas cooker to a medium heat and place the pan on top. Do not allow the pan to be too hot so that your Pancake does not appear burnt or sticky.

Step 3 : pour the oil or put the butter into the pan. Make sure the oil or butter is spread evenly across the frying pan. This is to make sure your pancake does not stick to the pan. While oil is more preferable to use, butter or mixture of both is equally very fine.

Step 4: Use a deep spoon to pour the pancake batter onto the pan. Make small circle of pancake so that a pan can cook about 3 to 4 pancakes at a time.

Step 5 : Monitor the pancake for 30 seconds and turn the upper side to face the down once it’s start to bubble. Do this at a regular interval until both sides are golden brown.

Step 6 : Remove your pancakes from the frying pan if they are brown enough to your taste. Stalk them up nicely ready to be served.

There you go you have made yourselves a nice brown yummy pancake. Pancakes can be served with toppins like butter or honey. You can equally serve with fruits such as banana, strawberries and coconuts flavours.
