Facebook is building a new feature for Messenger to allow you share content to a limited circle of close friends. This new feature under development is named ‘Favorites’. Favorites is similar to instagram’s ‘Close Friends’ feature.
Facebook’s Favorites would let you manually designate certain friends to be in your inner circle. This feature is an addition to the options of posting content publicly and sending content individually to friends.
From the look of things, Favorites aims to increase privacy and reduce the increasing number of casual acquaintances. Favorites is still in the prototyping stage so we will wait and see what comes of it.
