All those who attended Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele’s house party are to be prosecuted by the Lagos State government. The State Attorney-General, Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN), revealed to the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) in an interview that the attendees would be prosecuted for defying the social distancing regulation of the state.
Moyore’s interview was held shortly after an Ikeja chief magistrates’ court convicted and sentenced Akindele-Bello and her husband for defying the regulation. NAN reports that Funke and her husband were sentenced to 14 days community service each by the Chief Magistrate Yewande Aje-Afunwa. The couple have also been fined of a N100,000 each and urged to go on a 14-day long isolation.
The police have revealed that efforts are being made to arrest those who were seen in the publicly released video of the house party. According to the Attorney-General, all the attendees will be made to face the full wrath of the law. “Once they are apprehended, they will face charges.“
The Chief Magistrate, during the sentencing stated that “Each defendant shall provide the names, addresses and GSM numbers of every person who attended the party within 24 hours.”
