Coronavirus Makes Rivers State Govt Impose A 24-Hour Curfew With Security Operatives

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Port Harcourt City and Obio/Akpor local government areas of Rivers State have been taken over by security operatives as Rivers state government has imposed a 24-hour curfew.

Reports show that security operatives such as soldiers, Police and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigerian Airforce and Department of State Service (DSS) have been deployed to the affected areas. Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, the Rivers state Commissioner for Information and Communications stated that the curfew is to reduce the spread of coronavirus in the state.
