Google has cancelled the April Fool’s pranks due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic which has killed about 40,000 people globally.

Countries from Thailand to India have threatened jail time for people who use the coronavirus as a joke or a means for a prank with Thailand threatening a five year sentence for this act.

The President of Taiwan stated on Facebook that anyone who spreads false information about the coronavirus will face 3 years with a NT$3million (US$99,000) fine. Other countries have also threatened legal action against any one who spreads any false rumors about the coronavirus as the virus is a serious issue and not something to joke about.
