Apple has released its Smart Battery Case for its latest generation iPhones including the iPhone 11, the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
The Smart Battery Case is a case with an integrated battery that charges the phone until the battery in the case drains. When the case battery is low, the phone switches to using its own battery. Apple claims you get 50% additional battery life with the case on top of the already great battery life on these new iPhones any you can view the battery level for the case in the iOS battery widget.
There have been Smart Battery Cases for other generations of iPhones in the past but this one comes fresh and a little upgraded with a camera button on the right edge. The camera button launches the camera when pressed, even when the phone is locked. One short click on the button takes a picture and longer press captures QuickTake video.
The new Smart Battery Case is Qi-certified so you can charge both the case and the phone within using a wireless charger. It also supports USB-PD fast chargers using the Lightning connector.
The new Smart Battery case is priced at $129 and comes in White, Black and Pink Sand for the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max and just White and Black for the iPhone 11. Extra battery life is always a plus to every phone.
