3,500 Uber Employees Laid Off Through A Zoom Call

About 3,500 Uber employees were informed that they were being laid off in a Zoom call last week. The call lasted about 3 minutes.

DailyMail got a video of the call in which the head of Uber customer service, Ruffin Chaveleau, revealed the information.

‘We are eliminating 3,500 frontline customer support roles,’ Chaveleau said. ‘Your role is impacted and today will be your last working day with Uber’.

The lay off was majorly among customer support and recruiting teams, meaning driver number will be unaffected to a large extent.

A former Uber employee, who asked to remain anonymous, slammed the company for laying off that large number of people on a Zoom call and for the lack of notice.
